I have an HP Pavillion. I don't know the exact number on it because I'm not near it and cannot access the internet from it, but it's from around 2006, it's running Windows XP Media Center edition, it had a TV PC Windows Media Center card that has been removed because it quit working. The problem I am having with it is when I turned it on the other day, I got black screen with a message saying something about a Boot Fail regarding Floppy Drive A. There is no floppy drive in it, and I'm not sure what drive A is referring to. I disconnected the CD ROM drive and I removed the Belkin Wireless card that was in it, but neither made it boot up. The message was accompanied by a strange continuous beeping tone, and there didn't seem to be any way to click out of the screen. When I turned the computer off again and turned it back on, I didn't get the message, instead I got nothing. There was no signal going to the monitor, and the computer didn't seem to be doing anything. It fired up and the fans came on, so I know the power supply is good, but it wouldn't do anything else. I wish I had more information, but based on what I've given, is there anybody that can help me?

Since the computer is not booting to windows, you can try the steps as listed below:-
1.Reseat the memory card on the montherboard, if possible try to leave one memory card at a time and remove the rest.
2. Reseat the cables connected to HDD & the power cable connected to motherboard
3. Reboot and start tapping F1 to boot into BIOS, then check if the HDD is detected in it or not. If it is not detected then you have to reseat the HDD once
4. Do the above set once again & check for the product no listed in BIOS, if the HDD is still not listed. Then replace the HDD.
