Dead Pixel?

Hi. I recently purchased a laptop from HP, and i've had it for about 3 weeks now. Not until about a week ago I realized I had a red dot on my screen that only appeared on a dark background. After some research, I discovered that it is a dead pixel. I was wondering if there is any way to fix this, or do I need to send my computer back in to be replaced? Thanks! Smiley Happy

Hi,

 

What model PC are you using?  How to Find the HP Model Number

 

HP does have a pixel policy but I need your model number to reference that particular document.

Hello Logancorry, I have purchased several LCD monitors in the past that had some stuck pixels as you describe. After some use, all of these stuck pixels repaired themselves. You may not be as lucky. It is rare now, that a monitor has stuck pixels. In the past most OEMs had a stuck pixel policy that the screen had to have as many as 7 stuck pixels before a replacement would be considered.

That number is probably your serial number.  I need the model or product number to reference the exact pixel policy for your particular model laptop.

OK.  Review this specific article for your model laptop.

 

These other articles may also be helpful.

 

If your laptop is less than 21 days and you are not satisified then return it.  Otherwise it's a warranty issue if the pixel issue is covered by warranty.

I have an HP Laptop that is about one year old, and last night the screen got an entire row of dead pixels across the screen. I was wondering how I can get this replaced!

 

The laptop is a Pavilion dm4 and the serial number is: [Personal Information Removed]
