When I click on my HP Media Smart Photo Icon, I get a message that says HP Media Smart Photo main program has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. close program

Re: HP Media Smart Photo Main Program

Hi,

Click the Start Menu, click All Programs, scroll down the list and open a folder called Recovery Manager.  Launch the application and you should see the option to reinstall software that came with your PC so try reinstalling HP MediaSmart Photo and when this has completed, restart the PC and see if it now works.

Regards,

Re: HP Media Smart Photo Main Program

Hi,

MediaSmart Photo is just an application to view your pictures.  Aren't your pictures still in your pictures folder?

Re: HP Media Smart Photo Main Program

Have exactly same problem with my new desktop.  Did the recovery and still the same problem.  My Hp Media Smart video is crashing too.  Hp should a patch or some sort of fix available for the HP Smartmedia.  It seems that this a common problem and quite a lot of people are experiencing the same problem.

HP Media Smart Photo Main Program

Hello RamonGon,

Here is a thread with a similar issue you are experiencing.
http://goo.gl/orWLF

I would perform the same steps as outlined that worked for the other customer.
Reinstall the application with Recovery Manager
Restart the PC
After the reboot open the application and see if the problem continues.

Re: HP Media Smart Photo Main Program

I have been experiencing the same problem described above. After editing a photo, I get the message telling me that MediaSmart has experienced a problem and will shut down. I have reinstalled MediaSmart Photo using the recovery manager and the problem still exists. Can anyone sdvise a solution? It appears to be a very commonly experienced problem.
