HP Pavilion desktop s5102: base unit red light!?

hi all,

I was looking at the front of my base unit and noticed that there was a different light that was alight on the display.  It is near the two fron USB ports and it is a red light.  I can't find out what it is, does anyone have any ideas?

thanks,

Gemkstar

Re: HP Pavilion desktop s5102: base unit red light!?

If you are referring to the red box in the below screenshot, it is the light for Hard Drive activity. If you are referring to the green box in the below screenshot, is it Wireless status. Red light on this icon indicates that Wireless is disabled/not active. Blue light on this wireless led indicates that wireless is enabled/active on this unit.

Re: HP Pavilion desktop s5102: base unit red light!?

Hi Vidya,

I'm experiencing the same problem (I think) with the red light.

The red light blinking is located between the USB  ports and the wireless status signal.

Any idea about what it means?

Regards

Sam

Re: HP Pavilion desktop s5102: base unit red light!?

Hello, I have this problem also. It is not the Hard Drive access light or the WiFi light, it is a red light between the card reader and the USB ports on the front of the unit. You would not know it was there if it was not illuminated. I think it may be an access light for the card reader but I am not using the card reader when the light comes on.
