HP Pavilion xt938

Well here's the thing.  I was given an HP Pavilion xt938 to upgrade the hard drive on.  Now I've read some posts online and found that the motherboard wont recognize the full amount of a hard drive.  I fix PC's on the side so before doing this, do I need to do a BIOS update on this before installing a HD of say 320GB? It's whatever came with the system in terms of specs....They're too cheap to buy a new PC and want me to upgrade this as best as I can...Thanks for the help.

You wolud just have to attempt the 320GB. I did not see any bios update for the Pavilion xt938.

Alright....Do you think its even worth upgrading this?  Its a pretty old machine...It still uses IDE drives....What do you think?
