Runtime Error! Program Files\HP\HP Software Update\HPWUCli.exe
R6002 – floating point not loaded

HP Pavilion Intel Pentium D CPU 3.0 GHz 3.0 GHZ, 2.00 GB RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 SP3.
Every HP auto update has failed for years. Maybe when I first got it one or two worked? (years ago.)
Any idea?

Personally, I have never used HP Automatic Updates for this reason. I prefer to update my computer manually. I use Windows Update and the "Product Specifications" pages for any new HP updates.

Windows Updates have nothing to do with HP updates.
These have been failing since I brought the computer home from the store.
What's up HP??![]()

CS, this is why I mentioned using the Product Specifications pages. There are software and driver updates listed if there are any.
When you post if you would include the model of the computer, we could give you a more detailed answer.

I have the same problem with the Error: Product Definition File Lost. In a search to discover what this means I came across another posting which states:
"02-07-2010 10:33 PM
I have an HP HDX 16 and I have the same problem. I have tried everything! Customer service told me HP is looking for a fix. He also said he doesn't know how long that was going take. Wow"
I have also submitted a question to HP Support but no answer yet.
Regards
James

Old_Geekster,
I have learned that even going to the Software and Driver support page and finding an update to one of your existing drivers, and then trying to install it doesn't work. I was trying to install an update to my Wireless Keyboard, and I kept getting "error 259". I called HP Chat and the tech told me since I wasn't having any current issues then I didn't need the update. Perhaps the update would cause a problem since I am not having any trouble. I just wanted to keep current on updates.
