Hi Marv. I think you're trying to install a piece of software here. Can you post what software you are trying to install so we could check its system requirements? ![]()

OK... let me see if I get this straight...
By "CRASH Windows 7", you mean uninstall Windows 7??? There is no need to uninstall an operating system such as Windows 7... You merely install another OS and during the install, let it format the drive or partition where it is to be installed. PLEASE CREATE YOUR HP RECOVERY DISC SET BEFORE FORMATING THE HARD DRIVE OR INSTALLING ANOTHER OPERATING SYSTEM
By "install XP instead but it was a no go...and it still would not do it?????", you mean it would not install or what??? Problems installing XP on the p6-2133w could be the result of the system using a UEFI BIOS or the factory SATA controller mode setting in the BIOS. Please read HP documents "BIOS Settings for the Hibiscus Motherboard" and "About SATA Hard Drives and Controller Modes" for more information on changing SATA settings in the BIOS. The really short version is that XP doesn't natively support SATA AHCI and you must change this setting to IDE or "IDE emulation" for XP to install. If the UEFI BIOS isn't causing any issues, this should allow XP to install.
Please post back with your outcome.

Finally made a break through but and this is a big but, HP doesn't support XP anymore and I can not get XP drivers. Here is what I need
Ethernet COntroller
PCI Device
SM Bus Controller
USB Controller
VGA Controller
Any idea where I can get these drivers for an HP Pavilion p6 2133w

Try the following solutions;
AMD Chipset Driver for Windows XP 32/64bit (includes AMD Chipset Driver, AMD AHCI Driver, AMD USB 3.... This should take care of the SMBus controller, USB controller, and other chipset devices
AMD Catalyst Display Driver for Windows XP 32bit This should take care of the VGA controller device
Realtek GBE Family Controller Series Drivers (select 3rd or 6th item on list) This should take care of the ethernet controller device
Please see the IDT 92HD89E XP driver for HP Elite 7200 MT HP forum thread about possible solutions for the IDT 92HD89E Audio controller device if you have issues with the audio device
Please report back on your progress and what drivers worked.

You should be able to force the location to wherever you want. A work around is to use winzip, 7zip, or other file compression utility to extract the file and save it where you want. For the HD audio to work, make sure you are run WIndows XP SP3.
