Hi,

What operating system are you using?

Hi:

Put a password on your Windows Logon account

http://www.ehow.com/how_6780097_set-login-password-windows-xp.html

Vista and W7 work the same way.

You can also take more draconian steps, and put a power on password in your BIOS. Then a person can't even get to the Windows screen.

This is pretty drastic, and if you forget your password it could be a problem to clear it, depending on what model PC you have.

Hi Mike,

On the link below is a guide to set a password on your Windows 7 account.

http://www.techtalkz.com/windows-7/522242-create-windows-7-logon-password.html

Once this is set up, any time you want to lock your PC, hold down the Windows key and press L.

Another possibility is to put a BIOS, or CMOS password on your PC. This is relatively common for laptops.
