Yodahorn, welcome to the forum.
On my HP Laptop the wireless on and off key is F12. It is marked accordingly. I suggest trying them all to see which one works.

Have you tried going into Device Manager and enabling the Wireless device from there?

Ahh...now we are onto something. Windows isn't recognizing the device. Try installing the wireless driver. I think this is the one for your PC:
If that driver doesn't do the trick, you may want to install an updated chipset directly from Intel:
I took the details for your PC from these specifications (I hope this is correct?):
If none of this works, try using the HP Hardware Diagnostics to test the Wireless hardware:
I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

Had same problem on my HP and see from web searches is quite common ... easiest way is to click on the Start button then type HP WIRELESS into the 'Search programs and files' entry box ; then select HP Wireless Assistant from the resulting program list. That program lists your wireless LAN adapter and gives you the option to turn it on under its 'Action' column.
I had previously tried using my HP laptop's f12 key for wireless, and postings tell you to use that in combination with the ctrl (not fn) key, yet other postings indicate this doesn't seem to work - didn't for me either - so the above is the least frustrating method.
It'll turn off again by itself when you operate on battery and the battery charge gets low ... unless you change this property by using the device manager.
