I have an HP Pavillion with windows vista, Can I create recovery system disks on dvd-r ?Donkey1

I have a HP Pavillion a6214x with Windows Vista.  About 3 years ago I created my Recovery System with 2 dvd-r disks

I never had any trouble creating the disks and my HP Troubleshooting and Maintenance guide said I could use either

the dvd-r or dvd+r. But, the other day a HP support tech said use the dvd+r for creating System Recovery disks. If that is the case,do I have to start all over again and create Sytem Recovery disks on dvd+r's?

Creating the DVD's has always been a one-time event. I would be surprised if it worked.

HP can tell you how to reset the utility.

You could always make a copy of the disks on different medium.

A good cd]dvd software can easily accomplish this.
