I want to purchase an H8qe but I need "audio in".

 The machine comes with integrated audio.

Can I install a separate audio card and if so, are there any compatibility issues?

I will use Windows 7, 64 bit (Home premium).

Will any card work?

Hi,

 

The motherboard specifications do indicate Audio line in.  See the back I/O ports #8.

Also, I need a "firewire" card. Can you recommend a card and what slot would I use for this machine?

Hi,

 

Please review the information that I provided in this thread.  You will need to use a PCI-E x1 slot.
