In the DC series which models will boot from IDE hard drive?

in addition to above question--Are you able to use sata cd rom on machines that have both ide and sata connectors and boot from ide hard drive?

Hi:
The last model that came standard with an IDE HDD was the d530. Starting with the dc7100, the primary hard drives are all SATA and starting with the dc7800 there isn't an IDE connector on the motherboard at all.
You may be able to boot from an IDE hard drive in a dc7700 and earlier, but you would have to remove the optical drive from the primary IDE cable position and set it in the secondary position, and that is if you can get the cable to fit. Otherwise, a SATA optical drive would have to be hooked up to the SATA 2 port.
The d530 natively boots from the IDE HDD and you can add a SATA optical drive in the sata 1 port and still boot from the HDD.
