Lost three initials in the tray by the monitor clock

I have an HP Pavilion Elite m9040n PC running Vista operating system.  There were three initials on my computer screen, near the clock time in the lower right corner of the bottom tray, and they are gone.  I know one was for "Caps Lock" it was an 'A" that would be highlighted if I pushed the "Caps Lock" button on my keyboard.  All three are missing.  Does anyone know what they were?  I am sure about the "Caps Lock" being "A", and one might have been "N" for "Num Lock", and I have no clue what the third one was....

It might be that the Keystatus.exe entry in the startup tab of MSCONFIG is removed. You can try checking it back in startup tab of MSCONFIG. If the issue persists, try installing the keyboard software update from the following weblink:

Sorry, Vidya, there was no Keystatus.exe under the Start Up Tab, and the software download did not help either.  Would you know what all three initals were?  I only know the frist had to do with the Caps Lock...
