Message on start up

On start up I get a message as follows.....511 CPU fan not detected - F1 boot.... once I press F1 everything starts fiine but I can't hear a fan going and I want to know if this is normal or is something wrong
I'm using Win 7 on HP PavilionQU214AA#ABG

Hi:
Something may be wrong. There is a fan that cools the processor, and the error you're getting is that fan isn't working.
You could cause major damage to the PC if you run it in that condition, or it will eventually shut down by itself and give you a thermal shutdown error.
It could be that the fan quit working or the wire that connects the fan to the motherboard came off for some reason.
