Re: Need help upgrading computer parts trying to add power supply and graphics card

In order to answer your question, you need to choose a graphics card. Then select the PSU.

1) Any highend PCIE 16 graphics card will occupy to slots.

Re: Need help upgrading computer parts trying to add power supply and graphics card

i was able to get the one in the link to fit after removing the cd-rom drive (which not sure if that's a feasible option) :

Re: Need help upgrading computer parts trying to add power supply and graphics card

The Corsair CX500 and CX600 are highly recommended and forum favorites. Additional, they are only slightly bigger than the stock HP units and fit without issue.

Re: Need help upgrading computer parts trying to add power supply and graphics card

i know corsair makes great psu's, but both units fans blow into the case as opposed to out the rear of the case.  The pci clots on this particular computer are directly below the psu, wouldn't this prevent a potential overheating issue with a video card?

I'm having a similar issue myself, I'm not happy with the coolmax psu (mainly because I don't trust the brand), but I am trying to steer clear of a psu that vents into the case, let alone directly onto the video card.

Re: Need help upgrading computer parts trying to add power supply and graphics card

i guess my question is would the psu blowing hot air onto a video card make that much of a difference?  I have this same computer and was lerely of anything venting into the case, especially onto the pci slots.  Any pc I've had or built in the past has always had the pci slots near the bottom of the tower.
