New Computer start up not working

New computer out of the box goes into start/set up and a black screen appears with no text and makes no progress (hour +) What to do?

Suggest you shut down completely and attempt a reboot first. Check your video cable connection at both ends. IF successful, follow on screen commands.
Should the above fail to help & assuming it is an HP Product record your model and serial from side label on the case... then call Customer Support number Toll Free: 1-800-1441-0094 x63. M-F 8:30 to 5:30
