No option to boot from usb device Compaq Presario CQ5320F Desktop PC

There is no option to boot from usb device, in bios, on Compaq Presario CQ5320F Desktop PC.  I did not see a bios update for this pc on HP/Compaq website.  I thought all modern bioses had this option.  Is there a patch or workaround?

  1. Look in the bios to see what is available for boot order devices.  If you don't see USB then you are probably out of luck.
  2. Your USB device on this PC is not recognized as bootable.  Perhaps test your device on another PC to ensure that it is been built correctly.
  3. It's very difficult to build a USB device to boot a Windows OS but it's fairly easy to build a Windows bootable installation USB device.
  4. Hit the ESC key at boot time to bring on the boot device selection menu.  What do you see?
