P7 1414 USB Controllers

Hp P7 1414, the system crashed and after reloading Win 7, the USB 3.0 ports won't work.  The device manager says that I am missing the SM USB bus conctrollers! The USB 2.0 ports work fine.

I understand that after loading Windows 7 onto your computer, you are not able to use the USB 3.0 ports, and I would be happy to assist you!

Since there are no HP drivers available for Windows 7 on your computer, I recommend finding the Hardware ID of your USB 3.0 ports. Doing this will allow me to find an applicable driver based on the Hardware ID. To do this, please follow this document on How to Find Hardware ID.

For further assistance, I will need to know:

• If your computer has completed all of its important Windows Updates.
• If you have updated your HP drivers using the HP Support Assistant.
• If the USB 3.0 ports were working with Windows 8.

It did work with win 8!  I did some of it to work but it is not right, in the device manager under Other devices the yellow  exclamation  is on by the SM Bus Controller. Tried to update software to no avail!  Also on the task bar it shows USB, EJECT USB Root HUB!  The Proc is a AMD A8-55ooAPU 3.2GHZ 64bit! This happened one other time and I did download a program that fixed it and I thought that I had saved it on a flash drive but I can not find it!! Thanks for your help!

Ok, I think it is working right, although time will tell as I test the system!!  Now I believe the drivers that I needed came from the following address,  (   14-4-win7-win8-win8.1-32-64-sb  )  AMD Catalyst Software Suite..    I thank you for all your help!!
