PM (Preventive Maintenance) i

Preventive Maintenance is a good method to pro-long your Computer's shelf-life, get in the habit! Such as turning it off periodically, could avoid excessive heating, and adjust power consumption, according to your use. Do not block air vents, etc., wipe screen wipe with mild solution or plain water, do no use abrasive solutions, remove dust, avoiding saturation into computer, don't  run high magnet electronics around computer, etc.

TheColonel, welcome to the forum.

Thank you for the excellent suggestions.  I know from experience on the forum, there are many members who don't think about preventive maintenance.  It is very important.

Re: PM (Preventive Maintenance) i

Your Welcome, Mr. Regents Proffessor. More on PM..Periodically I will set a fan near Air Vents on my computers, this will dry up moisture inside. Do not TAP hard on Laptops' keyboard, they are not spiked or drilled into the front of the computer, it is a delicate plastic and breaks easy. Spills come easy, don't drink or eat spilling crumbs, the moment you feel you won't spill something onto your computer, you spill anyway. Lay a cloth or paper towel between any hard surface, for protection of the under-side, my under-side of my Notbook is as smooth as the top.
