Greetings...
I posted recently and received a good response in the forum and from HP FAQ.
My computer has an integrated video card on the motherboard that needs replacing due to high white levels in the display (blooming). Monitor is not the problem. I purchased the recommended OEM compatible card. I followed the instructions on how to uninstall the on-board card. That was completed. I then went into the BIOS and changed the primary display source from onboard to PCI-e. Successfully uninstalled old card. Installed the new video card in the PCI-e slot. Powered up, but computer keeps finding the original card as new hardware and doesn't recognize the new card. The cooling fan on the new card is working, so it is getting power. Video display is still being generated from the old card. The OS should at least see the new card. Is it possible there may not be a good connection from the edge connector on the card into the slot? Or is there another set-up menu item somewhere that I need to change.
Thanks, Bobby F

Hi Bobby,
What is the make and model of the video card that you are trying to use?
Try clearing the CMOS.

Hi,
Try another video card. The other possibility is that the power supply is not strong enough to fully power up the card.
