HP Pavilion m8000n, Vista 32-bit,
I would like to remove all unnecessary factory preinstalled software (including preinstalled games) from the computer. Also, I need to know what is essential software to keep.

Thanks for contacting the HP Forum.
Here's a link from Microsoft that may helpyou with your unneeded/unwanted programs.
Happy deleting!

Hi PC55 (intern)
Thanks for responding - I am in the process of reading those informative and comprehensive articles. It is helpful to have all that inf. in one place.
My question mostly dealt with removing HP preinstalled software and games that is not removable in the control panel in the 'Uninstall' section. The whole idea is free up hard disc space to have a more efficiently running PC. I don't think the articles address that issue.
Nevertheless the inf. you provided was and will be very valuable to me now and in the future.
Thanks again for your time.
Rainer
P.S. Now that Microsoft owns and controls Skype I hope they can address the issue of dropped calls. Rarely can I get thru a session without encountering this problem multiple times. Very annoying. I have 3+RAMs, plenty of disc space and close open programs. Still Skype tends to crash and the has to be restarted, Sometimes it helps to restore frozen screens by upplugging and replugging the video camera and/or and/or video settings checked..I researched this issue and it seems to be a common problem with lots of Skype users. Microsoft needs to address this issue before Skype will have a chance of becomming a commericially successful and reliable product.
