On my old HP Pavilion with Win XP, I could do a screen capture with the Prt Scr button without the use of any other program. I was told it was a small add-on utility. Does anybody know if that is available? It was so simple and so useful.
Thanks, Twinkie3

In order to help you further, could you please provide us with more information about your computer? Please post the specific model number or the (PN - Part Number) from the white tag on your computer. This will help us locate drivers and identify correct parts for your specific model.
The Print Screen function is the exact same in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

When you hit the Prt Scr button, the computer copies a picture of the screen. You can then paste the picture into Paint (or elsewhere) to view and/or save it. You should not need any add-ons or utilities.

Sorry to disagree but I know what I had. My HP Win 98 and my HP XP had a utility software that printed the screen instantly, no other program was involved. Of course it printed everything on the screen whether it was wanted or not. I guess they figured most people wanted to print only a portion of the screen to save ink. That is reasonable, but occasionally I would like to print the screen exactly.
Thanks to all. I appreciate your input.
