My Computer: Compaq Presario Product name AY03011-ABL CQ5320F
Error Message The device reported the following status: The previous self test completed having read the element of the test fail- 22/04/2012, 10:26:30 AM
Error Message The first failing LBA value is 16512590 and the failure occurred after the device had been operating power on hours. 22/04/2012, 10:26:30 AM
Computer is aproximately 2 years old.

Hi,
SMART short test is for hard drives. If you are still able to boot to windows then i would recommend to backup all important data asap. Smart test indicates that there are some issues with the hard drive and it may fail in the future. System may still continue work for many more months without any problems but make sure you backup your data regularly.

Time to replace the hard drive. You can use a retail SATA hdd to replace the 500GB hdd you have. Hope you have burned your Recovery Disk set?
