Unknown Alarm

Every so often, I get an alarm that goes off on my computer.  No real regularity to it.  But is has become more then a few times each week.  I get no messages, nothing poping up, just all of a sudden I will get a beep beep beep over the speakers that are attached to my computer.  Again, I cannot track it because it seems to be random.  I have tried several things from checking outlook for anything flagged, I checked all the logs as best as I could and try to see if it was recorded and I don't see anything recorded there...

 

I am considering just blowing up the OS and reinstall from a NON-HP copy of Windows 7 Pro I have.  But I would rather not do that as it is very time consuming to reload my software.

 

So, suggestions as to how to find the culprit?  Is there a piece of software that I can run that tracks what IS running and what might pop in do a task and then pop out?
