To Anyone Who can Advise:

I have just purchased an inexpensive Compaq CQ 5110 F. I am wanting to know if anyone can tell me if Win XP will run on the system? An HP Tech told me he did not think it would, but I am not completely sure as kmccoy mentioned he was installing XP on a 5110 computer (is that the same as mine) for his girl friend.  I really have no problem with XP, and if I can use it on this machine, I can use some existing printers and scanners.  I would greatly appreciate any info you may be able to provide.

I believe that this will be possible.

The best thing to do would be to check and find out if you can get Windows XP Compatible Drivers for that Laptop Model.

If you can, then there should be no issue at all with installing Windows XP on it.

I installed Windows XP Professional on the CQ5110F and found the drivers for the system at the following URL.

The system is operating fine.  You may want to partition the hard drive prior to installing the XP which overwrites the Vista software.

Did you find Realtek HD Audio? Choose High Definition Audio Codecs,accept agreement, then get the Executable file:
