The motherboard on my HP Pavilion was replaced under warranty a little over a year ago. I assumed that a motherboard replacement also included replacing the processor. Is this a true assumption? I suspect that it is not true now. The repair history simply states "MBF1 Replaced Motherboard". If someone does not know the answer, how can I find out? I can't find a way to contact HP directly unless the computer is under warranty, which it is not.

Hi,
Motherborad and CPU are two different items/parts - I believe HP only replaced the faulty part (ie MB) why we need to replace the CPU ? Out of warranty, contact any vendor now will cost you movey.
Regards.
