Pavilion 20 b010
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello, I am thinking of upgrading my cpu processor on my windows 8 pavilion 20 b010, an all-in-one computer, but I am unsure about doing it because I don't know if my computer can handle it. I am looking to upgrade it to a 2.5GHz-3.7GHz processor but am unsure that my system can handle it, because the one I currently have is only 1.48 GHz, so it makes me think my pc won't be able to handle it because it is so small, and because it's an all-in-one computer, so I don't know if my cpu can even be changed. Can someone please help me with this issue, it would be much appreciated.

Hi,

Processor information

  • TDP: 18W
  • Socket type: Not applicable, because the processor is soldered down to the motherboard
  • AMD E1-1200 (Zacate) Dual Core processor soldered down on the motherboard
  •  NOTE:
  • Because the processor is soldered down to this motherboard, the processor cannot be upgraded

Regards

Hi,

No, you can't upgrade to anything, because:

  • Manufacturer: Pegatron

  • Form factor: nano-AIX: 19 cm (7.5 inch) x 24 cm (9.4 inch)

  • Chipset: AMD A68

  • Memory sockets: 2 x DDR3

  • Processor socket: Not applicable, because the processor is soldered down to the motherboard

  • Expansion Slots:

Ok I understand I can't install a new one, but is there any chance I can make it better in any way?

You can install more RAM but that does not improve the processing speed, only improve the multitasking that is run at the same time more programs.

Oh thanks for the info but I'm looking to improve the cpu for gaming, (most games these days require about 3GHz to run it at a good speed) but thanks anyway for the help. I'll just have to face it and be one of those people who run games at like 1-6 fps.
