can't get safe mode off

hp pavilion desktop windows xp a4313w    tried everything to get safe mode off,  nothing seems to work

Hi,

 

You have tried "everything"?

 

Is your data backed up?  Do you have recovery disks?

 

Your PC might have a safe mode boot virus which means a destructive recovery is needed.

Try this from safe mode.

 

Run "msconfig".

A System Configuration Utility window will appear. In The General menu, Click on Normal Start-up, after that, go to the Boot.ini menu. Once you're in that menu, unclick the /safeboot button, then apply all changes, then reboot your PC.
