cant boot compaq presario 6000 PC

i have a compaq presario 6000 series pc i have not used it for months and when i did no probs i have just started to use it in my office at home and all ok till microsoft updates prompt me to update service pack i so i started update and it has been up dating for two weeks ive restarted  and nothing please can somone help me im not a wiz with computers but ok .

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE ?

Hi

 

You have a couple of options as I see it please try these steps might help you to resolve your issue.

 

1) Once unit is powered on keep tapping F8 key select Safe mode unit will load to windows try doing a system restore to the date where unit was working fine.

 

If this option does not work then try the web link given below.

thanks for the tips but i still cant boot my compaq presario 6000 series model 6016us desktop pc . when i try to boot  in safe mode it starts up and on screen im left with loaded:\windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys and thats as far as i get in safe mode  . this has happened since windows update started loading service pack up date hope somone can help
