headphone jacks no sound

If I use the headphone jack on the back of my media center 7250 PC I can get sound but if I use the front headphone jack there is no sound this is a new issue as I have been using the front panel for me headphones for several years any ideas that might help.Thanks in advance for any input.

You might try uninstalling the sound drivers:Go to start button- Right click 'computer' icon on left hand side of double columns  then select properties, Next window on the left pane select Device Manager, new window opens up, look for icon listed Sound video and game controllers (double click), icon that appears below then right click on that icon the select "uninstall". Then let the driver uninstall do not be surprised if icon disappears, Next let the computer to restart then the driver will install itself Your sound should work.
