Hi,
What is indicating that you have 64 bit?
Do you have a 64 bit operating system installed? (VISTA 64 or Windows 7 64 bit) If yes, which version?
How much memory did you add and what is the total physical memory installed?
Try clearing the CMOS.
Boot into the bios (F10) at the HP splash screen and tell us how much memory is recognized by the bios.

Poorpara1234, welcome to the forum.
It is a 64-bit system. You may want to clear the CMOS (prn. see moss). The CMOS is a chip that stores the settings for the BIOS. If incorrect settings are remaining in the CMOS, it may cause the problem that you are experiencing. Also, are you certain that you bought the correct memory. Most memory sticks, incorrect or not, will fit into the slots.

certain you have 64bit Vista? 3.2 gig is maximum support on 32bit Vista. Look in start menu, control panel, system.
