MilBrick52, welcome to the forum.
I suggest turning WMP off and back on. Here is how to do it: Control Panel / Upper left hand corner "Turn Windows features on or off" / Media Features from the list / click (+) and uncheck Windows Media Player and click OK. Then, reboot and redo the previous steps. This is for Win 7.
