how do you get out of safe mode?

Hello rhenry, When the HP Logo screens disappears at bootup, just start tapping the F-8 key and the system should boot into Safe Mode.

Hello rhenry, Sorry, You should be able to just click on the Start and then select to either shut down or restart as you normally would when in the normal desktop.

i did that ,but it still comes up in the safe mode.

Hello rhenry, You might try this. When the system boots into Safe Mode, Go to Start, Run, and in the run box type In msconfig

Then go to the Boot.ini Tab and make sure that Safe Mode Is unchecked (Off).

Then click apply and reboot the system.

Let us know if this resolves the issue.

I have had the same issue with my Pavillion Desktop. In my case, I always unplug the Monitor (which is connected with a USB plug) and plug it back into a different USB-port.

Even though I do not know WHY, this solution always resolves the problem. I have encountered it twice in over a year now.
