Three months ago, I replaced an empty black ink cartridge (C6656A) in my printer HP PSC 2410 .
The new black ink cartridge and printer worked just fine until yesterday.
The printer had not been used for about a week.
The very next time I tried to print something, the printer didn't work
but showed a message saying to Check the cartridge in the right stall.
I didn't notice anything wrong.
But I cleaned the contact areas as recommended by the trouble shooting guides.
I attempted several times to restart the printer
but it continued to emit messages to check the cartridge and contact areas.
I decided to replace the cartridge with the old empty one
and the message problem went away
but it wouldn't print because the old cartridge is empty or dry.
I reinstalled the newer cartridge and the messages returned.
Is there anything else to try besides buying a new cartridge?

It appears the ink cartridge has malfunctioned and should be replaced with a new genuine HP printer ink cartridge.

I was hoping there would be another solution.
This is the first time an origininal HPcartridge has failed me.
