Hi,
When you say HP Banner are you refering to HP Advisor/HP Dock?
If it is the HP Advisor then try this:
-Open HP Advisor> Click PC Dashboard > On the left bottom click Settings> Remove the check mark in
"Launch HP Advisor from Boot"
Or,
Click On Start > In the Start Search box type in System Configuration > Click System Configuration that will show at the top > Select the Startup Tab at the top> It'll show you a list of programs > Remove the check mark next to HP Advisor....or anything that looks like the program you are looking for.
You can use this method to disable any program that you do not want to come up in the startup. It'll only disable it from starting during bootup but the program will still be there in the computer. Rather this method can actually speed up your startup also.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

Thanks so much for the help, it worked. I know this was not a big deal. It was just one more thing i had to do. Ed
