no Ethernet driver

i have a Compaq Presario SR1475CL Desktop PC and i keep getting this message everytime i try and hook it up to the internet. It says i need to install a Ethernet driver so I've been looking all over the internet on my other computer trying to find one and i cant. I've checked the manufacturer of the motherboard and everything still no luck. can anyone help me. Also I've just installed windows 7 on my PC and ever since its been giving me that message. Can anyone help me...

Try the XP driver. Download it and right click the driver installation file and select  Properties. Select the Compatibility tab and then select  Windows XP.
