"Factory Image Drive (E) "on HP-moving files

I am using an HP Pavilion Elite m9060n...I have a Seagate External hard-drive for backup. Do I need to retain the "Factory Image files on drive (E), or can they be moved to the external drive to clear drive (E) for other usage? This may be a stupid question-but I'm asking anyway.

Hello Morrismornic, Have you made the HP Recovery Restore disk set for your system?

If not, I would suggest this be done. It can only be done one time. If your hard drive were to fail, you would need these disk to get the system back as it was when shipped.

If you have a great need for the space on your hard drive, you could delete this partition. I would not since it only takes up less than 10 GBs of hard drive capacity.

I would suggest you not do anything with the HP Recovery Restore partition, since if it is disturbed, it may not work if you needed to restore your system. If you have the Recovery Restore disk, you could usually use these disk to restore the system back as it was when shipped.

HANSPUPPA, Thanks for input...Yes I have made recovery discs, however I accept your suggestion, since indeed I don't gain that much space and suppose it is another "safety" measure in case of complete collapse!
