42" TV PL4260N - picture just sent out, still have sound

i found the y sus board, 2 blown fuses, my problem is, how do i disconnect the lower right white 1" flat cable & the bottom right 6 white & 1 black wires?

I too have had the same problem with my television twice. First time the problem was resolved by HP " as a known issue" 13 months after purchase. This was only after I called and received the $600 quote for repair. As an employee, I placed a Voice of the Customer response and was contacted within 24hrs and it was repaired free of charge.

Now, 2 years later the televison has no picture yet again. I feel sorry for the  HP employees and other consumers that I recommended to buy this television. I was always very brand loyal even after I left HP after 10 yrs of employment. I now have nothing but poor things to say about their service and quality of products.I was not aware that HP does, in fact, create rather expensive disposable products. I will now plug in my 20 yr old Toshiba so that I may watch television.

fyi...already replaced the y sus board and still does not work. Has a "picture" but it flashes. Glad I paid another $200 for nothing.

the flat cable has a plastic strip on top that you lift gently (with a fingernail perhaps) then the cable just slides out. Can't remember the other mentioned.

If you just buy the board instead of having a repair place do it you may have to adjust some pots to get the picture right. Not recommended unless you know what you are doing.

Just received Y-SUS board back from PTS. Installed and now TV is back to normal. Much better deal than HP ($629) - $122.60 plus round trip shipping.

HP has called me again, in regards to my complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Somone asked me what I wanted. "The money back for the repairs." That was a week ago. SIGH.

Holy crap!  Am I glad that I found this post!  You all just saved me thousands of dollars on a new TV.  Last night we heard the dreaded POP while watching TV.  We've had our HP for 3 years now (coincidence?) and I am so disgusted that this is a problem that HP KNEW about but didn't order a recall or at the very least contact all other owners about.  I will be contacting PTS Electronics soon as there are no companies in my local area that even want to touch an HP TV.  I even got hung up on when I asked about it.

My PL4260N died yesterday, same issue sound no picture, purchased May 2006, with less than 500 hours ...and I have read many of the same complaints, and a solution if you wish to spend upwards to $800 or more or do it yourself for a lot less.

I would like to know where I can purchase the TNPA3243AB-PA PC BOARD and the TNPA3242-PA  SUB ????

I do not care to call or deal with HP, I am still stewing over my HP dv6000 now on its 4th system board since May 2007.  HP knows of defective parts they use and their attitude when you call is just plain unprofessional. 

Bottom line in my lesson owning 5 HP products and dealing with HP...never again.  I will buy MAC or DELL.

So if someone knows of where I can purchase the above parts for the PL4260N, I appreciate it...if I cannot get it repaired, it will end up on YouTube of my running it over with my Tahoe.  Or if some TV Repair wishes to buy it as is for $500, you still can stand to make a profit.

Bestbuy parts search----a little high priced though.  This is the 2nd time for me.  The circuit boards are all  made by lg!   hp is useless in this issue.

How can you search BestBuy for parts, I just did Bestbuy.com and nothing is found.  Or did you go in person to Service Dept.?  I just e-mailed asking them.  Thank you, Doc
