I purchased the HP touchpad because of its low cost and because all the other tablets in the market were priced beyond the affordable.
I did not know if the tablet market would ever be a viable market because of the power of desktop and laptop systems. Wow was I wrong.
If I have learned anything I need to refocus my computational needs in the future on devices such as the TouchPad. I find that I have all but abandoned the other systems especially when I go on travel. Lighter is better for many reasons.
I have to admit that I don't understand why HP is abandoning the touchpad market segment especially when they have created a winner and what appears on the support forums to be a loyal following. At the prices the touchpad were gong for I could have purchased pads for every child in the family for Christmas. And it would have been possible at these prices to keep replacing the devices annually with upgraded alternatives.
And now that HP seems resolved to depart the computer market altogether I am sadden at the news and of course the TouchPad which is a brilliant product.
HP I thank you for many years of meeting my computational needs and especially in advancing a device like the touchpad as a value added entry into the marketplace. It was a brilliant move to create and price the TouchPad the way you did. You have sold tens of thousands of persons like me on the device concept even though you have chosen to abandon exactly what the market needed to really take off; namely an affordable high tech entry into what I
believe will be the most successful technology enterprise in the 21st century. You have set the bar high, I hope someone else will eventually pick up your gauntlet because it is worthy of loyal customer support.
Sorry to see you go but my heartfelt thanks to you all.
