Re: Discontinue Touchpad - buyback?

I agree, something needs to be done.  Being a Pre owner and a fan of webOS, I purchased a TouchPad the day it was released.  It's too late to return it now.

I feel like I've been the victim of a bait-and-switch tactic.  For several months HP has stated over and over again that they are committed to webOS, that they knew it would be a long haul to develop market share but that they were going to stick to it, and that they were willing to pour resources into developing a robust ecosystem for webOS.  I purchased the TouchPad with faith that HP would stick behind those claims and AT LEAST TRY to make it work.  I bought the promises and am now out $600 for a device that will have no support, no ecosystem, and no new development by either HP or app developers (really, who's going to waste their time developing for a dead OS?).  HP promised me a lot if I bought the TouchPad and then turned their back, walked away, and snickered while they counted the money I had just handed them.

I'm an all HP house... 2 desktops, a laptop, an all-in-one printer, the Pre, and the Touchpad.  Unless HP does something to make this right, those will be the last HP products I ever own.

Re: Discontinue Touchpad - buyback?

I couldn't be more disgusted....I have actually loved my touchpad but don't see much sense in keeping it with no future enhancements.. Thankfully I got mine from QVC and they have a great return policy. I'm sure they are not happy about this either and will most likely be getting them all back...

[ Edited ]

And now they will be selling it for $99.  One last kick in the nuts from HP.

Just give me my money back(all $385) so I can buy the tablet I should have bought to begin with.

I just feel like I was scammed.

Re: Discontinue Touchpad - buyback?

Have a relative that works at BJs wholesale, they pulled their Touchpads off the market, and expect to sell them at $99 , I will jump on one when they do. All i need is a wifi tablet to surf with, nothing serious. I like the Skype video chat option. I was NEVER going to pay $400  for one, but at 99 , I love it. I have tried some 7" android tablets with resistive screens and was disappointed. I am probably one of the few that like the current news.

I DO wish all of the current owners luck with rebates, I hear things about this on the net.

Does anyone think that purchasing one at 99 bucks is a bad move?

Thanks

Dan

Re: Discontinue Touchpad - buyback?

if you don't care about any future enhancements then for 99.00 its worth it.....I have actually loved the device which is upsetting me even more with all this... iQVC did already issue one 100.00 rebate but I think I'm going to return mine for a full refund and go with an ipad....

Re: Discontinue Touchpad - buyback?

They sold for 99$ each, and 149.99 for the 32 gig. I purchased 10 for 99$, and one for 149.99. Well, it was limit one per customer but I have friends. I plan on giving them as gifts come the holiday season. beats getting only 3 for that price.
