Discontinue Touchpad - buyback?

Just read that you are discontinuing the Touchpad. I bought mine August 1, and now on the 18th you are discontinuing it? Conveniently that's outside of Best Buy's 14 day return policy. You better let us return these white elephants. I am going to contact Ohio's Attorney General and consumer protection over this nonsense. I paid $550, figuring you would stand behind your products. Mr. Hewlett & Mr. Packard have to be **bleep** disappointed the way you've messed up their company.

Re: Discontinue Touchpad - buyback?

I just bought mine from Stapels in Oklahoma about 3 weeks ago.  This isn't right!  What is HP going to do about this???

Bought mine from Woot.com and just got it 2 days ago and have NO way of returning it, needless to say I am seriously pissed off.

Apotheker said he's "taking ownership" of this decision.  Good, he can give me my **bleep** money back.

Re: Discontinue Touchpad - buyback?

I have already "e-mailed the CEO" but fear this is falling on deaf ears. I like the OS and hardware of the HP touchpad, but if they are ceasing production of tablets, what developer is going to want to spend the time developing applications on a system that is obsolete. What HP needs to do is provide a means of installing Android, at least then we would have the opportunity to have access to developing content and applications. If HP doesn't handle this appropriately, I will never purchase another HP product ever again.

Re: Discontinue Touchpad - buyback?

Imo22, you aren't going to get continued support for WebOS, or the Touchpad, they're stopping support. No new upgrades. I do like the Touchpad, it if they're killing the whole system, so soon, then I want my money back. This seems like it's been in the works for a while, meaning they put this on the market even tough they were going to leave the consumer market. That sounds like fraud to me. And if they're so mercurial here, I have no confidence in their enterprise solutions either.

Refunds, HP, or your entire reputation is shot.

To the best of my knowledge, "Discontinued touchpad" means that HP will stop production. Hp will continue to support the product within the warranty support period. If for whatever reason HP decides not to support the product they would contact you for a means of retribution.

Re: Discontinue Touchpad - buyback?

Just bought two ... one for myself, one for my husband, both in the last two weeks.  Not a happy camper after hearing this recent news.

So can I get a refund?
