Hello all.
I'be been wondering, as I'm a Mac user, how can I edit and work on my HP-50G elements (programs, equations, variables, etc.) that reside on the SD card? I've mounted the SD card on the desktop but, for each of the documents, all I get is a mishmash of characters in each file. What program do I need to open, edit and save these files?
Please help!
Thanks

Hi,
Unfortunately I only have a Windows PC. I use HPUserEdit to import and export 50G progs etc.
http://www.hpcalc.org/details.php?id=6600
When files are then saved as HPUserEdit format (.hpprg), they are readable in text editors.
HPUserEdit can be used to easily write and edit programs in. It has an emulator too.
However, I also use EMU48 (in 50G mode). It is possible to import/export 50G files transferred with the SD card with "Load Object" and "Save Object" (recall to stack first). Although it is possible to create, edit and run files in the emulator for the calculator, it does not translate it to ASCII or text file readable format.
There are EMU48 versions available for Mac. You'll have to search the internet and hpcalc.org to find the most suitable one.
Regards,
Bart

Yes, thank you for the Emu48 suggestion. I've downloaded each of the three files--'Emu48files.sit,' 'Emu48_1.25b4.dmg.gz' and 'emu48src1.25b3.tar.gz.' Please, since I'm new to this, could you tell me where thsee files are supposed to go? I'd appreciate that.
Thank you.

Hi,
You should be able to extract the .sit file with 'suffit expander' or 'unarchiver' or similar for mac.
I have been able to run the EMU from almost any directory on a Windows PC.
The important thing is to have a ROM image file and a keyboard KML and JPG files in the same directory. There is usually a text file that provides information how to specify the which ROM file and KML file to use.

Bart

Hello there. If you'll forgive me, I'm new at this and from what I downloaded, it's all very confusing.
First, I downloaded three files:
emu48src1.25b3.tar.gz
Emu48files.sit
Emu48_1.25b4.dmg.gz
Now from these three folders, I'm very confused as to what files goes where. Sorry, but 've never dealt with OS/X manual installations so, please fill me in on the details.
Thank you.
