Fax Receive Problem

Hi,

 

I have an HP 1040 fax machine.  I am starting to have "receive" transmission problems.  I do not have the manual and am not able to research.  When I send a fax out, it works fine.  then the person sends me a fax and it sometimes works and most of the time it does not work.  I seem to have a "receiving" problem.

 

I checked everything and made sure all was properly plugged in, etc. and all looks good.  I still do not understand why it works sometimes and most of the time it no longer does.

 

Might there be a web site link where it lists all the "trying to fix all types of fax receive problems" and I can review the list and try to resolve ?
