HP Dreamscreen Problem:

when attempting to logon to my facebook account all it does it show the loading sign & it never connects, stays like this for a very long time...tried restoring to factory settings & updated the software, changed my facebook password & redid this & still does the same thing, everything else seems to be working fine, but this was the main reason i purchased it to logon to facebook to use it as a slideshow of my pics & it never logs in, am i doing something wrong????

Re: HP Dreamscreen Problem:

Did you input the password from the device or from the PC software? Have you read the various web documents and FAQ's, http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=3935830&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us

I have no issue logging in.

Re: HP Dreamscreen Problem:

You might want to try loading user info from PC software and transfer it to the Dreamscreen. The Dreamscreen also can not handle accented characters like piñata.

Re: HP Dreamscreen Problem:

And you are able to connect to other web based services like Pandora? Are you by chance using a proxy?

Re: HP Dreamscreen Problem:

[ Edited ]

Mine works fine, however I notice there are some specific friends whose profile pictures and albums never load.  The people without photos never change, it is always the same ones. I have wondered if there is a privacy setting somewhere in facebook that is causing issues with those specific people, but I honestly dont know.

I know from being on my PC that they in fact have profile pictures, the dreamscreen just never loads them. When I click on their name (with no profile pic of course) on the dreamscreen, it says that no user info is available for that user.

Unfortunately I think you might be one of those people!

*edit - cant spell :smileywink:

Re: HP Dreamscreen Problem:

There is an API call when DreamScreen gets information from your account, so I am not sure what is the controlling factor. Quite frankly I have trouble understanding Facebook from a PC in general, but that's another story. Also the type of file that friends use can be a factor when displaying pictures.

dperez - I am at a loss for your issue. The only other thing I can think of is that possibly you did not get a good install of the SW update. You might want to do another factory restore which takes your SW back to the original version, and then another SW update.

Re: HP Dreamscreen Problem:

DPerez,

I had a similar problem with mine.  I just kept trying and eventually it connected.  There didn't seem to be anything wrong with my setup, I'm guessing it was timing out for some reason.  If you try several times it may connect.
