HP Mouse Suite 2.2 Error 1926 - HP 5 Button Optical Comfort Mouse

Product name and number: HP 5 Button Optical Comfort Mouse, #BR376AA

Operating system: Windows 7 32 bit.

Error message when installing: Error 1926. Could not set file security for file C:\Windows\system32\. Error: 0. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to modify the security permissions for this file.

 

After this, the installer rolls back. To clarify, I am running it as an administrator. Would appreciate help :smileyhappy: Thank you

I have the same problem.  I am running Windows 7 64bit.

 

294 views and no reply from HP.

 

Searching the web and no solution to be found so HP suck and never more will use HP products.  I should have known better on the first place. 

 

I am a webmaster, I do complicated programation, install 100's of programs and I can't even install the driver to configure the buttons on my new mouse.  Ridiculous.

 

Taking ownership, full privilege and running as administrator does not help.
