Thank you for the tip. I finally got a number in A. I had to realize that after getting A between the quotes I had to move the cursor outside the quotes before hitting [Shift] EEX. Now how do I easily retreive the number to use in a calculation? It seems it takes three steps to get it back and then you only see A until you hit [Enter]. Those steps being Vars/Real/A
All I want to do is mimic the old Store/Recall function with the 10 memory slots (0 to 9) that my old hp calculator had. Simple and quick. Is there a way to do that?

It only takes two keystrokes: [ALPHA] [A]. You can access all variables, both the built-in ones and the ones you create yourself, by simply spelling their names in alpha mode.
For example in RPN mode, here's how to multiply the contents of A by 153:
[ALPHA] [A] [Enter] 153 [×]
or
153 [Enter] [ALPHA] [A] [×]
Instead of [Enter], you can also use the space key in both of the examples above (just like on the HP 48/49/50g).
