Thanks for bringing this topic up again. A while ago I determined that after I updated Adobe Flash the problem came back. Your post triggered an e-mail to me, so I came back to the HP forum to look at the thread. Because of that I found the source of the problem and the solution.

The version of Solution Center that was installed with the hardware looks for a certain version of Adobe Flash. If it cannot find it then it asks for the install disk to install it. So when you update Adobe Flash, the next time you use solution center it would ask you to insert the install disk.

When HP updated Solution Center it changed the code to allow later versions of Flash. Unfortunately, it took HP a while to create a new version of Solution Center and I was unaware of the upgrade.

So the solution to the problem is simply to install the most recent version of Solution Center for your hardware from the HP web site.

HP Solutions Center has a variety of errors, some I've solved, only to be stopped by another, etc., during my quest to get the scan function to work for my  HP4500 Office jet. Several uninstalls, restarts and installs later some minor changes, but no scan. First it was windows installer dominated the screen. Then Smart Web Printing then the individual file errors,  no 1033.xml. Then, no docproc.msi, and so on. Downloaded everything I thot would apply, with only minute changes, if any. Windows installer probs solved. So presumably it's a HP software glitch.

I have the window that wants me to run the cd again and i do not remember what happened to my cd to install the printer and the window solution.  can I take care of this without the cd?

I have the HP software on an Acer netbookwith no CD drive, so I got the latest software from the HP site.  I have tried re-installing it.  But maybe I have the wrong software, although I am able to print with it.  My printer says it is a B210.  The software choices are B210a, b, c, or d, if I remember correctly.  I tried the B210a.   Do you think I should try one of the other choices?  And thanks for answering.

The weird thing is that I also installed the same software for the same printer from the website on my Toshiba laptop, and I do not have this Solution Center problem.  It works fine.

Could you provide a link to the Solutions Center software? I cannot find it using the HP search. And this startup issue is vexing. Thanks.
