HP Touchpad rear case/housing

Hi there,

I have had my touchpad a little over a month now and obviously want to keep it in good nick. I have been keeping it in a leather protector and always take care to not knock it about. I noticed this morning after taking it out of the case to charge on my HP touchstone dock that there was a hairline crack on the rear casing at the bottom of the device where the Micro USB socket is which strikes me as very odd since I only used the USB cable to charge it for one charge when i first got my device in mid November, and have only connected to the computer on it once around the same time.

I have seen on a few sights, going back to  July/August time that HP were offering to referbish HP touchpads that were having issues with the rear case/housing...

I was wondering if since they have since stopped manufacturing whether this still applies or not? and if it doesnt, I was then further wondering whether its possible to purchase a replacement rear case/housing to do as a DIY job? I have looked briefly around the web but cant seem to find any anywhere so i am presuming not, but some of you guys on here might be a bit more knowledgeable then myself.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Re: HP Touchpad rear case/housing

i too have been looking around for replacement cases and have none. have you tried going through customer service to get your problem resolved? the last time i had to deal with hp reps was a fairly easy process. since this thread is an old one with help from aby hp reps, i guess i'll have to go there and see what can done to solve this issue.
