Home server recovery can't detect server

I need to restor a back up version of my pc.(Lost Everything) I can see the home server and the backups in it, but when I use the recovery disk, it states the server can't be seen.  How do I make it seen?  I can't seem to figure out why that happens or how I should correct the problem.  One solution says to download the network drivers from the files on the server, but that doesn't make sense to me since I can access the server and the network.  Can you help?
