Having the same problem.  There is a driver to download and instruction was to uninstall former driver.  Could not do this as it was "grayed" out.  Downloaded the driver, but still cannot work the scanner.

 

Anyone have an answer?

Unfortunately the ScanJet 4670 is not supported on 10.7 (Lion). You can try using VueScan, which is a 3rd party software which many users have had success with. They offer a free trail to make sure it works with your device. Its definitely worth a shot.
